Sasha Alexander (born May 17, 1973) is an American actress. She is known for her role as Gretchen Witter, the sister of Pacey Witter, Joshua Jackson's character in "Dawson's Creek", the female lead on NCIS, starring opposite Mark Harmon, as NCIS Special Agent Caitlin "Kate" Todd in the first two seasons of the CBS television drama NCIS, a minor role as Melissa in Mission: Impossible III (2006), as Lucy in Yes Man (2008), and as Catherine in He's Just Not That Into You (2009). She made a guest appearance as Nora in the episode "The Down Low" of the TV series House. She currently stars as Medical Examiner Maura Isles on the new Turner Network Television series Rizzoli and Isles, costarring with Angie Harmon. Alexander was born Suzana S. Drobnjaković (Serbian Cyrillic: Сузана С. Дробњаковић) in Los Angeles, California. She began acting in school productions in the seventh grade. She also was an ice skater, but had to stop due to an injury to her knee. She continued acting through high school and college, and then moved to New York to act in summer stock and Shakespeare festivals.
