Sacha Bennett (born 11 May 1971) is a British actor, writer, producer and director for film and television. He was born in Harpenden, Hertfordshire where he attended St. George's School. Bennett wrote and directed the 2006 short film, Devilwood, which stars John Simm. It has won several awards, including Best Foreign Short Film at the Queens International Film Festival. Bennett's first feature film, Tuesday was released in October 2008 in UK Cinemas and reunited John Simm with his Life on Mars co-star Philip Glenister. Based on the best selling book by Bernard O'Mahoney, the film charts the Essex drugs war in the mid 90's. Released in UK cinemas on Sept 3rd 2010, the film stars Tamar Hassan, Vincent Regan, Adam Deacon, Kierston Waering and Neil Maskell. Set in the mid 80's, a feel-good comedy following a group of friends and the decision to invest their redundancy money on a racehorse. Due for release in 2011, the film stars Bob Hoskins, Callum Mcnab, Juliet Stevenson, Phil Davis, Emily Atak and reunites Bennett with Adam Deacon, Kierston Wareing and Terry Stone.
