Patricia Rooney Mara (born 1985) is an American actress who will portray Lisbeth Salander, the title character in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first of three Sony Pictures films based on Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy book series. Her past films include The Social Network, a 2010 film by David Fincher about the founding of Facebook, as well as other 2010 films including Youth in Revolt, The Winning Season, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, a remake of the 1984 horror film.
