Richard Carter (born 11 December 1953 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian actor who has appeared in several television series and independent films, and has also been a prominent voice-over artist. Carter used to be an alcoholic but stopped when he had a divine experience. He has been dry since. He currently lives in the Northern Tablelands of NSW and is active in his community as a Freemason. Some of Carter's filmography includes Rabbit-Proof Fence, Hating Alison Ashley. Babe: Pig in the City, and Happy Feet Two. Carter has predominantly featured on television as a police officer, but has also appeared as a criminal. He is most known for his roles in the Australian television series Wildside and White Collar Blue. In one episode of the comedy series Pizza he described himself as a: "Voice-over artist, comedian, actor..." He has spoofed his own policing typecast on many occasions, such as in the film You Can't Stop The Murders and in the television comedy Pizza. Carter has undertaken many voice-over roles, notably in commercials such as for Victoria Bitter beer and the introduction to the Network Ten News in Sydney.
