Director
Nelson McCormick is a television and film director. After attending film school at the University of Maryland, he joined the U.S. Air Force as an officer and combat cameraman. While in the Air Force he made military films documenting bombing missions, aerial refueling, humanitarian aid missions and troop deployments.
After some commercial work, McCormick started directing television shows. Some of his television directing credits include the series’ NYPD Blue (1993), V.I.P. (2002), Alias (2003), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2003), Third Watch (2004), ER (2004), Nip/Tuck (2004), House M.D. (2005), Over There (2005), The Closer (2006) and Prison Break (2007).
In 2008 he directed Prom Night, a re-make of the 1980 Jamie Lee Curtis slasher flick of the same name. Though panned by critics, Prom Night ranked #1 at the box office the weekend it opened, grossing over $20,804,941. In February of 2008 it was announced that McCormick would be directing a re-make of the 1987 horror thriller The Stepfather.
