Maxwell Caulfield (born Maxwell Newby, 23 November 1959) is an English-born film, stage and television actor best known for his role as Michael Carrington in the musical film Grease 2 (1982). He has over 70 credits across film, stage and TV. In the 2000s he was a cast member in the long running soap opera Emmerdale. Caulfield was born as Maxwell Newby in Duffield, Derbyshire. the elder son of Peter Newby and his wife, Oriole. He has a younger brother, Marcus Maclaine, a musician.
