John Bach (born 5 June 1946) is a Welsh-born actor who has spent most of his career working in New Zealand. His best known role internationally is Madril in the two last movies of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001–2003), but he has substantial television credits in New Zealand, including the title role of Detective Inspector John Duggan in the police crime series Duggan, a regular character in the long-running soap opera Close to Home and a recurring character in the Australian TV series Farscape. In 2010 he appears in This Is Not My Life as the sinister figure Harry Sheridan, and as magistrate Titus Calavius in Spartacus: Blood and Sand. He has also appeared in several New Zealand films, such as Utu, Carry Me Back, Goodbye Pork Pie, Old Scores and Beyond Reasonable Doubt. Despite being Welsh, Bach's surname is pronounced "Baitch", and not as in the Welsh word for small.
