Jasjit Singh Shergill (Punjabi: ਜੀਮੀ ਸ਼ੇਰਗਿਲ) popularly known as Jimmy Shergill (born 3 December 1970) is an Indian actor. Shergill born in a Punjabi Sikh family in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, As a punjabi, he has also made his contribution to develop the punjabi cinema by doing at least one punjabi film every year. He is the first punjabi actor who has made commitment to the punjabi cinema to help compete with the big budget hindi films. Mel Karade Rabba was his last punjabi film and was an all time blockbuster for a punjabi film as it broke all the records. The film made more than the hindi films that released on the same day even though it had very few screens/shows. The success cemented Jimmy shergill as the new punjabi hero and Jimmy shergill has now become a producer for the upcoming punjabi film dharti in which he will also be starring.
