James McCaffrey Movies and Career Information

For the software engineer and author, see James D. McCaffrey. James G. McCaffrey (born 1960) is a Northern Irish actor living in the United States. He is best known for his role in the television series Rescue Me as Tommy Gavin's dead cousin, Jimmy Keefe, and as the voice of Max Payne. His first role was for sills models, as a mentally challenged teen, in the movie of the week Bill II: on His Own, the "Bill Sackter" story, which also starred a young Helen Hunt. He also played the lead in the first and last seasons of the series Viper, and the short-lived series Swift Justice. McCaffrey is known as the voice of the title character in the video games, Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, a fugitive cop on a quest of revenge against the murderers of his wife and child. McCaffrey also appeared in a cameo role in the big screen adaptation of the video game, playing an FBI agent brought in to assist in the capture of the titular character. McCaffrey has also had roles in the television shows As The World Turns and Sex and the City.
