Charlie Day (born February 9, 1976) is an American television and film actor, from Middletown, Rhode Island, best known for playing Charlie Kelly on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Day spent most of his childhood in Middletown, Rhode Island, attended The Pennfield School in Portsmouth RI and graduated from Portsmouth Abbey School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Afterwards, he attended Merrimack College in Massachusetts where he played baseball. Besides playing Charlie Kelly on the hit FX television series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, he is also the show's executive producer and one of its writers. He has also appeared on several television shows such as Third Watch, Law & Order, and Reno 911!. He was cast in New Line Cinema's Horrible Bosses in May, 2010 opposite Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Colin Farrell, and Jamie Foxx. Charlie Day is married to the actress Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who plays a recurring character on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, since March 4, 2006.
