Bharath (Tamil: பரத்) (born 21 July 1981) is an Indian actor, who has predominantly appeared in Tamil films. He is probably best known for his critically acclaimed performances in Kaadhal, Pattiyal, Veyil and Kanden Kadhalai. Bharath was born in Trichy into a Tamil family, but later moved to Chennai when he was one month old since his father got a job here. A trained dancer by profession (joined Swingers International Dance club when he was 11 years old), his luck brought him into movies. He made his acting debut in the 2003 Tamil film Boys directed by S. Shankar. The film was a musical hit and fared well in box-office. He then acted in the Malayalam film 4 The People, which was a musical hit as well and became a blockbuster in Kerala. Thanks to its success, the film was subsequently dubbed into Tamil (as 4 Students) and Telugu (as Yuvasena). His first solo lead role happened in the 2004 film Kaadhal directed by Balaji Sakthivel and produced by Shankar. The drama film received critical acclaim and became the blockbuster of the year.
