Bernadette Lafont (born October 25, 1938) is a French actress and the mother of Pauline Lafont (1963–1988). Bernadette Lafont won the César Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for L'Effrontée (1985). For her long service to the French motion picture industry, in 2003 she was given an Honorary César Award. She started very young in the movie industry and became part of the "Nouvelle Vague" in the 60's from her films with François Truffaut and Claude Chabrol. In May 2007, she chaired the jury for the fifth edition of the Award for Education presented at the 60th Cannes Film Festival. She was made an Officer of the Legion of Honor July 14, 2009.
